OAC women's cross country runner of the week is a Polar Bear
Ohio Northern junior Ashlie Baumann (Sterling Heights, Mich./Stevenson) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of Sept. 1-4.
Baumann led the Polar Bears (8-0) to a victory in the season-opening Bluffton 5k on Friday at the Bluffton Nature Preserve.
She led Ohio Northern across the finish line in fifth place of 90 runners in a career-best 18:48 which ties her for 10th all-time at Ohio Northern.
The Polar Bears will return to action Saturday at the Calvin (Mich.) Invitational.
Women's golf
Ohio Northern freshman Lydia Cranmer (Farmington Hills, Mich.Ladywood) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for the week of Sept. 1-4.
Cranmer led the Polar Bears (2-0) to a victory in the season-opening ONU Fall Classic on Saturday and Sunday at Colonial Golfers Club.
She fired an 82-84—166 to win the individual title by five strokes on the par-72, 5909-yard course.
The Polar Bears will return to action Friday-Saturday at the Ohio Wesleyan Fall Invitational.
