Janet L Crawford, 1951 - 2017
Janet Lee Crawford, age 66, died on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 7:21 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born on April 26, 1951 in Kenton, Ohio to the late Walter R. “Scotty” and Eleanor J. (Latimer) Scott. On June 16, 1973 Janet married Robert “Bob” Crawford and he survives in Ada.
Janet began working at Ohio Northern University in 1969 for the Office of Admissions. She spent most of her career at ONU in the Office of Financial Aid, retiring on July 31, 2009. She retired to enjoy time with her grandsons. Janet returned to ONU as a part-time Switchboard Operator and currently her role was part-time Administrative Assistant in the Office of Advancement. She was a graduate of Ada High School class of 1969. Janet was a member of the Ada VFW Post #9381 Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time watching her grandsons play sports.
Also surviving are her three children: Kimberli (Pete) Bowen of Ada, Casey Crawford of Ada and Katie (Zachary) Schroeder of Findlay; four grandsons: Bradyn Bowen, Dylan Bowen, Colton Crawford and Andersyn Schroeder; a brother, Douglas W. (Elaine) Scott of Maumee; mother-in-law, Betty Crawford of Ada; a brother-in-law, Doug (Connie) Crawford of Ada; two sisters-in-law: Barb (John) Culp of Newton, KS and Shari (Clay) Calvin of Upper Sandusky; and several nieces and nephews .
She was preceded in death by her sister, Jeanne Donovan and father-in-law, Arden A. Crawford.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 15, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Pastor James Oates officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Robby Scholarship Fund and/or the Northern Now Scholarship Fund both in care of Ohio Northern University Office of Advancement at 525 South Main Street, Ada, Ohio 45810. Please indicate which fund you are giving toward on your donation.
