This scenario plays out all over the world, day after day.  Things didn’t turn out as you had hoped.

Maybe you tried really hard to master a new skill or information, but didn’t pass the required test.

Maybe you asked a girl out and she turned you down.  Maybe you entered a contest for a cruise, but didn’t get chosen.

Maybe you simply wanted to get from the office to your car without papers blowing everywhere.  Somewhere along the way, things didn’t turn out as you had hoped.

Jacob Colwell - recognized as one of the best and brightest students in the Class of 2019 in Ohio

Jacob Colwell is a black belt in Karate, a member of the Ada HS golf team, trumpeter in the band, on the gold winter guard team, and plans to enroll next fall at Ohio Northern in its mechanical engineering program.

He balances these extra-curricular activities while taking Calculus II at ONU, Physics for college credit plus, and a mix of other academic courses including French III, CAD III and Advanced Placement English. And, he carries a 4.0 grade point average.

All it takes is a little concentration. A student at Ready, Set, Grow Community Preschool ignores all the noise around him as he creates something on a magnetic Etch-a-Sketch.

The Ada boys track and field team finished a solid third as four Bulldog males won events at the annual eight-team Hardin Northern Invitational Monday.

The meet was originally scheduled to be held Saturday but was postponed two days due to cold, rainy weather.

Ada junior Phillip Gautier won the boys long jump event, while senior Miguel Jordan captured the 800 meters. Junior Michael Crouse came in first in the 400 meters, and junior Alex Morgan won the 300 intermediate hurdles race.

Lady Bulldog junior Nora Dellifield took first in the pole vault.
