The movie The Perfect Storm starring George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg depicted the sinking of the Andrea Gail boat off the coast of New England. The commercial fishing boat was out on a final mission looking for swordfish when a catastrophic storm hit in 1991. The boat and the six crew members disappeared in 30 to 40-foot waves.  Many family members of the crew were not pleased with the movie’s depiction of the accident, but ultimately lost the lawsuits brought against the studio.

The Ada High School football team returns home after two straight road games to entertain Delphos Jefferson on Homecoming Friday, September 23.

Delphos Jeff enters the contest 2-3 overall and 1-1 in Northwest Conference play. The Wildcats beat a previously 3-1 Crestview squad 21-7 last Friday in Delphos.

DJ lost its NWC opener at Columbus Grove, 38-6.

"They have a high-powered offense," said Ada head coach Toby Smith about the Wildcats. "They do a lot of RPO (run pass option) stuff, and if we are not where we are supposed to be, they will make you look foolish.

All are invited to drop by the ONU Observatory between 8:00-10:00 p.m. on Frinday, September 23 for the second astronomy public event of the Fall season.

The 2022 Harvest & Herb Festival on September 17 was a like a great big, warm Ada hug. Main Street from Montford to E. University was filled with families and friends enjoying a day of shopping, eating and drinking, and celebrating fall. Complaints? That the wasps were enjoying themselves, too.
