2020 Ada event dates announced
Many 2020 event dates for Ada were announced at the January Ada Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast. Those dates and other business announcements made at the meeting follow:
Heather Cox, Liberty Bank, said that sweet treats will be offered to the public on Friday, Feb. 14, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Jamie Hall, village of Ada, said that the village has received certification for the new municipal building elevator.
Jesse Purcell, director of Chamber and Tourism with the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance, announced the alliance’s annual meeting and award dinner is Thursday, Feb. 27, at McIntosh Center. Watch the Icon for ticket information.
Jennifer Fincher, Community Health Professionals, said that April 14 is its annual Hope banquet.
Ric Johnson with Caps Builders said the firm continues to remodel houses for long-term living.
Bill Jaynes, Rumpke Waste and Recycling, said the company is now handling the Ada services to homes and a few businesses.
Dan Newkirk, Heapy Engineers, said that property owners may be able to qualify for the Property Assessment Clean Energy (PACE) program. This program allows the owner to reduce energy costs using property taxes.
Rhett Grant, Ada Rotary, said that the Rotary pancake dinner is April. See a Rotary member for tickets.
Natalie Walton, youth services director with the Ada Public Library, invites patrons to a free movie offered on the “big screen” one time per month on Friday nights at the library.
Glenda Renz, Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS), said that an OBGYN is now available in Carey and Bluffton. In February there will be a ‘Meet the Midwives’ in Bluffton.
Gail Altstaetter, The Mercantile, said that the merchandise is continually changing in the store and in the window. The store had a strong retail season during the holidays.
Chris Burns-DiBiasio, ONU, said that the patriotic pops event will take place on July 2 in the lawn.
The Made in Ada Football Festival is Saturday, Aug. 22, with the committee meeting soon to begin planning. ONU students will be back on campus by the August date.
Ruth Roider, proprietor with The Gallery for the Arts, said the business will be re-opening on Jan. 23 with new merchandise and decorated for winter.
Angela Hersh, Liberty Bank, said that buyers’ assistance that is income-based is available. She is a member of Rotary and announced that on Feb. 4 teams from businesses and organizations will sponsor bowling teams for a competition at Norada Lanes.
The Ada Area Chamber annual membership meeting is Wednesday, Feb. 19, at noon at The INN at ONU with reservations required.
