The No. 20-ranked Ohio Northern women's volleyball program defeated fourth-seeded Baldwin Wallace 3-1 inside the ONU Sports Center Thursday evening, securing their league-leading 27th all-time berth in the OAC tournament finals .

 

With the victory, ONU improves to 21-7 overall on the season. The Yellow Jackets conclude their postseason OAC tournament run with a 27-5 overall record.

Crimson Lane wedding and event venue, rural Bluffton, is holding a Saturday open house.

Tickets may purchased at the door at $12 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $5 for students.

The Ohio Northern University Women’s Chorus will present a concert at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2 in Presser Hall. The group will perform an a cappella arrangement of “For Good" from the Broadway musical “Wicked” and other women’s chorus repertoire by some of the following composers: Ola Gjeilo, Johannes Brahms and James Mulholland. The concert is free and open to the public. 

Joseph Ferguson became the 95th president of the Ada Kiwanis Club at an installation ceremony on Tuesday. Other 2018-2019 club officers include President-Elect Marlene Hoorman, Treasurer Bryan Marshall, and Secretary Jon Umphress. The Immediate past president is Jack Jeffery, who will continue to serve on the club’s board of directors for the next year.

The Ohio Northern women's basketball program was picked to finish third among the 10 Ohio Athletic Conference schools during the 2018-19 season in the annual coaches poll. B-W and Cap were picked first and second.

Coach Michele Durand, now in her 18th year here, welcomes back nine previous letter-winners and two starters from a 2017-18 squad that went 23-5 overall and 15-3 in the OAC. ONU won the 4th consecutive OAC regular season title last year.

The Polar Bears first game will be Nov. 17 in a tourney in Allegheny, Pa.
