Helping you fight identity theft

During the week of Monday, May 3, through Saturday, May 8, Liberty National Bank, 118 S. Main St., Ada, will have available locked containers for persons to drop off unwanted paperwork to be destroyed.

This is a free service to the community to help fight the growing concern of identity theft.

The containers will be available during office hours, Monday through Saturday. Please limit the shred to five boxes, no larger than 20-inches wide by 10-inches high.

Troop forming for Ada, Kenton, Hardin Northern, Ridgemont and USV

Girl Scouts of Western Ohio host a nature discovery day in the Ada park on Saturday, June 5, according to Tammy Miller of the Western Ohio girl scouts.

The one-hour event, from 11 a.m. to noon takes place in shelter house number 2 at the park. It is open to girls grades Kindergarten to senior high schoolers and their families.

A girls troop will form for Ada, Kenton, Hardin Northern, Ridgemont and Upper Scioto Valley, and this event will help to launch that troop.

A second nature discovery day takes place in the Veteran’s Memorial Park large shelter house in Kenton from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 10.

The Lima Symphony Orchestra’s free “Patriotic Pops” concert returns to Ohio Northern University’s campus on Friday, July 2. The event will again take place on the sculpture mall east of McIntosh Center between Presser and Weber halls. This family-friendly concert features several music selections in keeping with the upcoming Independence Day holiday. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and bring lawn chairs, blankets and their favorite picnic food to enjoy the evening.
