George McCauley exhibit here until Dec. 14

The work of ceramic artist George McCauley is on view now through Dec. 14 at the Elzay Gallery of Art on the ONU campus.

McCauley, a Greek-American potter, has had 30 solo shows and has been included in 300 exhibitions. He has taught and conducted workshops internationally.

He is recipient of four National Endowment for the Arts grants and the prestigious Roy Acuff Chair of Excellence for the Arts at Austin Peay State University. 

His ceramic and sculpture works are included in international collections in 12 countries.

Betty Rose Crouse, 95, died on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, at 2:54 a.m. at Bridge Findlay Hospice Care Center. 

She was born on July 15, 1924, in Ada, Ohio, to the late Ernest P. and Ethel G. (Montgomery) Klingler. On May 30, 1942, Betty married Raymond Eugene Crouse and he preceded her in death on June 5, 2015.

Blanchard Valley Medical Practices, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System, recently welcomed Ajit Chary, MD to the team at Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine of Northwest Ohio. 

The office is located within Blanchard Valley Hospital at 1900 S. Main St., Findlay, and Dr. Chary is welcoming new patients.

Dr. Chary received his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He completed medical school at Windsor University School of Medicine and fulfilled his fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine at Louisiana State University Shreveport.

Carroll Charles “Carl” Kouba, 88, of Lima, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019, at his home in Fort Shawnee.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years, F. Irene (Plummer), who passed in 2003.

Carroll was born on Feb. 1, 1931, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Frank and Othelia (Krochot) Kouba.  He graduated from East Tech High School in 1950, where he ran the two-mile relay as a member of the track team with brother his Frank.  

He graduated from Fenn College (Cleveland State) in 1954 with a degree in Electrical Engineering.  After college Carroll would serve four years in the US Army as a Radio Technician in the Signal Corp during the Korean War.

Ready for a Thanksgiving dinner?

Beatitudes, 210 N. Main St., has teamed with the Ada Lions Club and Ada VFW Post  9381 for a free Thanksgiving dinner open to the public.

This year’s dinner is moved from Beatitudes to the Ada VFW Hall, 2147 State Route 235, and the Lions will sponsor the dinner. Serving time is from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26 (in place of the regularly-scheduled crockpot Tuesday).

And, during Thanksgiving week, Beatitudes will be closed Wednesday through Sunday, Nov. 27 to Nov. 30.
