All donations benefit Restore’s back to school bash

Ada Public Library is collecting school supplies and giving weekly prizes, as part of their summer program.

Here's how it works: bring in a new, packaged item from the Ada schools supply list (see below) and receive a ticket for the weekly prize drawing. These prize drawings will occur once a week, each Monday, for anyone who has donated school supplies.

Ada Historical Society invites the public to a program at 6 p.m., Saturday, June 29,  at War Memorial Park. 

The guest speaker, Dr. Karl Roider, and others will share "Tales of Ada."  Information on membership, the society, the fall 2019 cemetery tour, and ideas for future speakers will be available. 

"Meet with friends and neighbors, and reconnect with things you love about our wonderful little village. Ada is worth celebrating and we hope you will join us," said Rhett Grant, society member.

We all know where Neil Armstrong was – standing on the moon.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Neil Armstrong moon landing, the Icon invites viewers to submit accounts of where they were, and what they remember about the event.

Send your recollections - no matter how brief - to [email protected].

We will collect all the stories and post them on July 20.

 

Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center has been reverified as a Level 2 trauma center by the Committee on Trauma (COT), an achievement that recognizes devotion to optimal care for injured patients. The verification extends St. Rita’s Level II Trauma Center status through May 2021.

The COT was established by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) to help improve all phases of care of injured patients. Verified trauma centers, such as St. Rita’s, must meet the strict criteria that ensures quality of trauma patient care and institutional performance.
