Ohio Northern University’s HealthWise Pharmacy, a key campus learning center for pharmacy students, now offers compounding services to the community, for people as well as pets and other animals. It’s a service that provides customized medications for a variety of health-related conditions, and can serve as a convenient solution to typical medication barriers.
A winter storm is looming, looking to disrupt travel for the Christmas holiday.
Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) crews in District 1 and District 2, which includes 16 counties throughout northwest Ohio, are preparing by checking trucks and all equipment; and organizing full-time, auxiliary, and seasonal employees to prepare them to begin 12-hour shifts when needed.
Based on predictions by our meteorology partners, ODOT is preparing its plow operators for the following:

The December 15 meeting of the Ada Schools Board of Education was attended by elected officials Ron Fleming, Matt Gossman, Ted Griffith and Steve Ramey. President Amy Mullins was absent; Mr. Gossman conducted the meeting.
The session began with an executive session of approximately 15 minutes to discuss employment matters. Links for agenda and treasurer’s report.
The meeting was attended by the Icon and the Kenton Times, as well as by Lance Dearth and family. Dearth was hired as the new Buildings, Grounds and Maintenance Supervisor.

Amy Mullins was appointed as President Pro-Tem for the January 12 reorganizational meeting.
Competing at home, the Ada High School boys wrestling team swept a three-team match with McComb and Bath Tuesday evening, December 20.
Ada beat McComb 54-12 and edged Bath 43-42 in a tiebreaker after Landon Simon won a clutch bout by pin in the final match to tie it up, 36-36.
After the Simon comeback win, the last two bouts were forfeited, with one win for each team. Ada won the dual team outcome via the tiebreaker criterion for having forfeited fewer matches.
"It is always fun to wrestle at home and have more family and friends able to attend," said Ada coach Eric Perkins. "It really does change the energy level.
Simon rallied to win by pin in the last contested match vs. Bath with strong encouragement from the team and crowd.
The Ohio State University Extension Office in Hardin County will be closed from Friday, December 23-Monday, January 2 for OSU’s winter academic break.
OSU President, Kristina Johnson, announced that all university offices will be closed during winter break to show appreciation for employees and allow time for personal recharge and rest.
This closure includes all county Extension offices. OSU Extension Hardin County will resume regular hours on January 3.
The center is designed to engage regional companies, organizations and individuals through “high-impact programs and services to enhance outcomes while contributing in a significant way to the mission of ONU.”
