Editor's note: Ever get tired of making to-do lists? We recommend making a "done" list to put things in perspective. Here's a recently issued version of just such a list for outgoing ONU president Dan DiBiasio and first lady Chris Burns-DiBiasio.

Ohio Northern University released new data highlighting the combined accomplishments and achievements of President Dan DiBiasio and First Lady Chris Burns-DiBiasio one month prior to the couples’ retirement from ONU. This webpage and downloadable PDF provide quantitative examples of the University’s growth and impact during the couples’ 11 years in Ada.

The numbers show growth in areas such as operating budget and endowment, while also chronicling ONU’s contributions to the student experience and community from 2011-22. Much has been made of the DiBiasios’ impact on ONU over recent months, and the new project data puts the scope and scale of that impact into context.

Editor's note: The new Ada Icon editor is just getting to know Craig Hoffman and perhaps some of our readers are, too. Craig graduated from Ada High School in 1994 and has been on the pages of the Icons since 2014. He lives in and blogs from Japan. In this installment, Craig has some advice for aspiring novelists.

Nicholaus Edwin Arthur Dyer, age 39, of Dola, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, 

He was born on January 17, 1983, in Kenton, Ohio to Terry and Sandra (Campbell) Dyer. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Dola. On October 14, 2017, Nicholaus married Jaime Bilimek and she survives in Alger.

Nicholaus is also survived by his daughter, Nora Dyer of Columbus; a sister, Lucinda (Josh) Ulrey of Ada; and a nephew and niece: Logan Sturgill and Victoria Sturgill both of Ada. 

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lana Dyer, and his dog, Eva.

The Ada-Lost Creek Gator swim team opened the 2022 summer season at home against Bluffton’s Sardines in a West Ohio Aquatic League dual meet on Thursday night, June 9 at the Ada Municipal Pool.

Bluffton won the meet 465-274, the combined boys-girls team scores. The boys balance was 235-153, while the girls scores were 230-121.

Ada's Lily Baumgartner (15-18 age bracket) and Olivia Aggozino (9-10) paced the Ada girls with three individual race wins apiece.

Ada's Landon Stahler (15-18 boys) also touched first in three races for the Gator boys.
