ADA - Versatile Ada senior Leona Dalton was named first team All-Northwest Conference for softball in voting conducted by the league coaches Monday evening.
Dalton won 13 games and struck out a school single-season record 239 batters over 151 innings this spring. The workhorse hurler completed 23 games.
Dalton also led the team offensively. She compiled a .448 batting average by knocking out 35 hits. She scored 32 runs, led the team in slugging pct. and drove in 35 runs to lead Ada in all five categories.
Paige Cole, an Ada High School senior, is one of three $1,000 scholarship recipients through a Liberty National Bank Financial Literacy Program.
Thirty-six students in Hardin, Logan and Union counties submitted applications for the bank’s My Money Matters scholarship.
It is a free, online financial literacy program sponsored by the bank, at no cost to participating schools. Liberty is partnered with EverFi, Inc., an education technology company to bring this interactive, web-based financial management program schools.

Antoinette M. “Toni” Cramer, 79, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at 5:20 a.m. at her residence.
She was born on April 1, 1942, in Chicago, IL, to the late Chester and Angeline (March) Stashwick. On Dec. 1, 1962, Toni married Loren W. Cramer and he survives in Lima.
Toni worked many interesting jobs over the last 62 years, having retired in August of 2014 as the Account Manager for CSI International, the cleaning contractor at Marathon Petroleum Findlay Office Complex. She previously worked for over 20 years in health care (LTC) in Environmental Services Management, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
Ada's top K-2 and 3-5 class from the April Read-a-thon won the opportunity to turn Mr. Thaxton into a human cheese ball today as their reward. Ohio Northern University will host the 9th annual Ohio Pharmacy Resident Conference, to be held virtually on Friday, May 21.
The event, which allows pharmacy residents to present their research in a structured, juried environment, represents one of only a handful of regional residency conferences held throughout the United States.
The event is hosted each year by ONU’s Raabe College of Pharmacy.
The conference’s presentation schedule reflects the wide diversity of pharmacy practice, the positive impact on the population, and the profession’s innovative nature.
