Ada's next American Red Cross blood drive is from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday, May 17, in the Community Health Professionals Ada Visiting Nurses conference room, 1200 S. Main St.

The Ada school board will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, in the board room.
According to an announcement from the superintendent’s office, the meeting is to discuss a legal matter and/or to consult with their attorney and discuss a pending or imminent legal matter.
This is the third special meeting called by the board since April 20 when the board met on that date to conduct a hearing under the disciplinary procedure for an employee. The board accepted the resignation of cafeteria worker Angela Wurst at the end of that meeting.

ADA - The host Ada softball team built an eight-run lead then staved off a late comeback to defeat spunky county rival Hardin Northern 11-9 in a first round Div. IV sectional slugfest Monday evening.
Ada improved to 11-11 this season with the wild tournament win, while HN fell to 1-16-1 with the loss. The Lady Bulldogs advance to the tournament's second round May 13 at Wayne Trace.
"I think we came out strong and got on top," said Ada head coach Rebecca Dicke. "Then the momentum shifted, and we had to really work through it and make some defensive plays to win. Those momentum shifts can be deadly."
Clara L. Dumbaugh, 90, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021, at 7:47 p.m. at Kingston Residence of Marion.
She was born on June 2, 1930, in Franklin County, Ohio, to the late Edgar and Hazel (Foos) Burroughs. On June 20, 1953, Clara married Phillip S. Dumbaugh and he passed away on Dec. 3, 2010.
Clara graduated from Mt. Carmel Medical Center as a registered nurse. She worked at Morrow County Hospital and the Morrow County Home. She loved God, Country, and Family.

PAULDING - The visiting Ada baseball team made the long trip to Paulding and fell 9-2 in the Northwest Conference finale Monday evening in a makeup contest.
The Bulldogs dropped to 6-12 overall and finished 1-7 in the NWC following the defeat. The Panthers improved to 15-6 and ended up 7-1 in the NWC with the win, putting them second behind state-ranked Lincolnview.
Ada trailed 4-0 after three innings, but plated two runs in the top of the fourth to cut the deficit in half.
Paulding responded with a run in the home fourth, then pushed across four more in the bottom of the fifth to seal the outcome.
