"Look, I'm making a gingerbread house." Eli Anderson, 3, was one of 50 people who attended a Christmas in July gingerbread-making time sponsored by the Ada Public Library and held at the Ada First United Methodist Church on Friday afternoon. He is the son of Chris and Sarah Anderson. It was a great time for kids to be creative (any architects in the crowd?), hone construction skills, and lick your fingers.

Children love animals, all kinds, and whenever a group in Ada puts on an animal show the children attend in great numbers as was evident this week when the Ada Public Library invited Exotic Zoo to Ada.
Here, Javon Stacks passes around a Flemish Giant Rabbit for youngsters to touch gently.
This breed of domesticated rabbit can weigh more than 20 pounds. The Exotic Zoo is located near Detroit. Most animals there were born on the premises.
A gator lies quietly in the grass, either sunning or ready to devour prey. In this case, the gator is a member of the Ada swim team, Carter Cleavers. The Ada team, known as The Gators, have their last meet of the season at the Kenton pool Friday and Saturday. Swimmers from the eight league teams will vie for championship status from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. those two days. So far this year, the Ada Gators are 50-50 against league foes.
