Ben Frankart, a junior musical theatre student from Findlay, Ohio, and Joey Nicoletti, a junior musical theatre student from Cleveland Heights, have been nominated by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) to participate in the Irene Ryan Scholarship Competition for their recent roles in ONU’s production of The Pirates of Penzance. The Irene Ryan Foundation awards 16 regional and two national scholarships annually.

Connor Cruea, a freshman biochemistry student from Findlay, was the honorary survivor and guest speaker at the Colleges Against Cancer Relay for Life.

Hosted by ONU and held at the King Horn Field House on March 31 and April 1, the relay included 30 teams and 341 participants, and raised $16,800 for the American Cancer Society.

Sophomores Luke Klinehoffer (Zanesville/John Glenn) and Austin Frey (Peoria, Az./Sunrise Mountain) led the Ohio Northern baseball team to its fourth consecutive winning season with a 15-3 victory over Ohio Wesleyan on Wednesday evening at the OSU Lima Baseball Field.

The Polar Bears improve to 21-17 overall, while the Bishops fall to 14-23.

The Ohio Northern women's outdoor track and field team is ranked the highest it has ever been ranked in the fifth weekly United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association power rankings, released Tuesday, May 2.

The Polar Bears (78-4 overall) received 82.57 points in the rankings and are ranked No. 8 in the rankings.

Washington (Mo.) held the top spot with 204.74 points, while Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Cal.) came in second with 124.57 points and Williams (Mass.) rounded out the top-3 with 118.44 points.
