Rich Bensman has been named the head men's basketball coach at Ohio Northern University, effective immediately.
He replaces Kevin Byrne, who resigned on Wednesday as head coach after four seasons as the helm.
Bensman has served as an assistant coach at Ohio Northern for the previous four years.
"We are excited to begin a new chapter of Ohio Northern men's basketball under the guidance of Rich Bensman," ONU director of athletics Tom Simmons said. "Rich has worked extremely hard as an assistant coach the past four seasons and we look forward to having him in the leadership role."
Liberty National Bank is participating in the Welcome Home Program, according to Ronald L. Zimmerly, Jr., bank CEO and president.
The program is a grant sponsored by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati. It is designed to assist eligible homeowners with down payment or closing costs when purchasing or buying a home.
The Welcome Home Program provides up to $5,000 in grant money for eligible homeowners and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Welcome Home funds will be available starting March 1, and will end when the money is no longer available.
Bill Jamerson will speak about the Civil Conservation Corps at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, at the Ada Public Library.
The Michigan-based author will present an hour-long music and storytelling program dressed in uniform. He will show clips of his PBS film, read excerpts from his novel, and sing original songs while playing his guitar.
The CCC was a federal works program created by the government in the heart of the Great Depression.
During its nine year run, beginning in 1933, more than 130,000 young men in Ohio enrolled in the program.
A team from the Ohio Northern University chapter of the Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) has been selected as one of five regional winners of the 2015-16 “Prescription for Service” competition. The ONU division of SNPhA will receive a $2,500 grant award that will enable it to implement a service program in the community.
