Ohio Northern overcame four turnovers and a 17-point third quarter deficit to post a 30-27 victory at No. 11-ranked John Carroll on a cold and rainy Saturday afternoon at Don Shula Stadium.

The Polar Bears improve to 3-1 overall and are 2-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Blue Streaks fall to 3-1, 2-1.

Freshman Will Freed hit senior Justin McCray on a 35-yard TD pass on a 4th-and-20 play with 4:22 left in the game to give the Polar Bears their only lead of the day at 30-27.

Glen R. Early, 96, died on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.

He was born on Aug. 19, 1919, in Allen County, Ohio to Schuyler C. and Josephine L. (Bundy) Early who preceded him in death. On Oct. 2, 1946 he married Mary H. Staley and she preceded him in death on March 8, 2007.

Glen was a lifelong farmer of Allen County, retiring at the age of 88. He was a member of the County Line Church of the Brethren, rural Ada. He was a 1938 graduate of Ada High School. Glen was a former Jackson Township Trustee, serving five terms over 21 years. His family considered him a “walking historian.”

Marilyn Jean Wolford, 67, died on Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at 8 a.m. at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.

She was born on February 5, 1948, in Kenton, Ohio to Donald and Opal (Kindle) Isenbarger who preceded her in death. On June, 22, 1995, she married Ronald R. Wolford and he survives in Dola.

Marilyn retired from Wilson Sporting Goods of Ada where she worked as a sewer.

Marilyn helped to raise her nephew, Daniel Isenbarger.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Isenbarger.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Salad
• Spinach, torn
• Romaine lettuce, torn
• Mushrooms, sliced
• Hard boiled eggs, chopped
• Bacon, crispy and broken

Prepare the amount of lettuce as needed

Dressing
1/3 cup vinegar
1 cup oil
2/3 cup sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard
Bacon bits
1/4 cup onion - diced
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. celery seed

Two young students at the Ohio Northern University Pre-school know something we don't know. Apparently, it's a secret. (This secret was whispered while student lined up to go inside their classroom following playout outside.)
