Ralph Worrell served on the LaFayette-Jackson Fire Department
Ralph M. Worrell, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at 1:10 p.m. at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born on Oct. 5, 1934, in Jackson Township, Ohio, to the late Roy Orr and Hazel Vesta (Harshe) Worrell. On Jan. 26, 1957, he married his loving wife of 64 years, Patsy F. Long, and she resides at Vancrest of Ada.
Ralph worked for the Furrows Lumber Co, the Village of LaFayette and a volunteer for the LaFayette-Jackson Fire Department. He was a member of the County Line Church of the Brethren, Harrod. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served from 1957 to 1959. Ralph was an avid Sprint Car, Nascar, football (Steelers) fan. He enjoyed bowling, softball (playing and coaching). Ralph never missed his grandchildrens athletic sports games.
Also surviving are his two daughters: Colleen (Mark) Hefner of Lima and Annette McConnaha of LaFayette; three grandsons: Chet (Tammie) Nickles, Shane Nickles and Tyler (Tarah) Wolf; two granddaughters: Melinda (Jim) Williams and Amanda (Shilo Clouse) Hefner; four great granddaughters: Alyssa (Garrett) Heuerman, Madison Nickles,Hannah Williams and Rylenn Wolf; six great grandsons: Kyle (Emily Buettner) Williams, Jacob Williams, Levi Nickles, Hunter Nickles, Caden Nickles, and Henry Wolf; one great-great granddaughter, Brinlee Heuerman; one great-great grandson, Briggs Heuerman; a brother, Melvin (Barb) Worrell of Forest; and a sister, Maxine Hatton of Pineville, Kentucky.
Ralph was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law; Marjorie and Rex Deal; and brother-in-law, Roy Hatton.
Attendance will be restricted at the funeral and visitation based on space to accommodate social distancing requirements. Face coverings must be worn while attending visitation and service.
Private family services will be held at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada, with Pastor David Thompson officiating.
Burial will be in Liberty Chapel Cemetery, LaFayette with graveside military honors conducted by the Ada VFW Post #9381 Honor Guard.
The funeral service for Ralph will be live streamed on the Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services Facebook Page beginning at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 11.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Village of LaFayette and/or the LaFayette Jackson Fire Department.
