A breezy yet sultry day in the groves of Ada’s War Memorial Park was the scene of the 2025 Park in the Park car show hosted by Ada VFW Post 3891. Mother Nature crashed the party with heavy thunderstorms prior to the anticipated 4:00 p.m. awards and raffle drawings, leading to a slightly abbreviated schedule.

Picnic organizers looking for Bingo callers

FROM F&M FACEBOOK__Who's hungry for some pie? We're looking for some hungry people that would like to participate in our pie eating contest.

Post your name in [Facebook] comments to be entered into the pie eating contest. Date is August 9 at 11 a.m. at the War Memorial Park Band Shell.

The Ada Farmers & Merchants Picnic committee, a non-profit organization made up of volunteers dedicated to preserve the tradition of the Farmers and Merchants Picnic, has issued this reminder on their Facbook page. The event in the shady groves of War Memorial Park started in 1913.

WAPAKONETA __The Ada Gators boys finished a solid fifth at the annual eight-team Western Ohio Aquatics League summer swim championships hosted at the Wapakoneta village pool July 11-12.

The Gators girls took eighth place, and Ada finished sixth in the combined team standings.

The WOAL meet is for swimmers aged 5-18 who are members of one of the league’s eight teams. Over 500 swimmers competed in the hot two-day championship event.

The Bluffton Sardines won the boys/girls team title. The Sardine boys captured first, while the Bluffton girls came in third.

On Wednesday, July 16 the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce and Ada Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) will update members on activities and opportunities. The chamber meets at 8:30 a.m. at the Ada Public Library and the CIC meets at the Depot at 12:00 noon. More Icon calendar items are HERE.
