Alger Public library is offering some activities to get you out of the house this month. The library is located on 100 W. Wagner St. See below for a list of events for March:
Preschool Storytime
Come with your little ones and hear a story during Preschool Storytime, which meets every Monday, at 6:30 p.m. These storytimes involves lots of stories, songs, and plenty of fun, while developing early literacy skills.
Ada Public library is welcoming in spring with some special events this month.
Conquer your cabin fever by coming to the library for their free movie, complete with popcorn, this Satruday, 9 March, starting at 11 a.m.
Or if you're looking for a more intellectual activity, come hear talks on the History of Warfare by Dr. Lomax, retired ONU history professor. On Wednesday, March 20, at 3:30 p.m., Dr. Lomax will focus on the Gunpowder Revolution. The Industrial Total Warfare will be the focus for the next Wednesday, March 27, and on April 3, the topic will be Asymmetric Warfare.
KISSIMMEE, Fla. — The Ohio Northern baseball program rolled past nonconference foe Bridgewater (Va.) Wednesday afternoon, capturing a 15-5 victory at Osceola Heritage Park #2 in Kissimmee, Fla. as part of the 2019 RussMatt Invitational.
The Polar Bears improve to 3-2 overall following the midweek victory. Meanwhile, Bridgewater drops to 3-7 overall this season.
Senior Luke Klinehoffer (Zanesville/John Glenn) and sophomore Will Davis (Upper Arlington/Bishop Watterson) headlined an offensive barrage that produced 15 hits in the contest.
The Ada Senior Citizens will meet Wednesday, March 13, at 12:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Community Health Professionals. Kathy Jo Dove will present a program, “CBD Oil and Its Uses.”
Those who have heard Kathy said they learned a lot about how to deal with challenges we face as our bodies are aging.
President Cloe Cole will conduct the business meeting. Euchre and other card and board games will follow. Refreshments will be furnished by Judy Magee.
The Harding County Sharpshooters 4H Club will be having a sign-up/info night
at the Hog Creek Game Club from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on March 27. Drop by at any time to sign up, ask questions or just to chat.
This year we will again be offering projects in gun safety, rifle and shotgun
disciplines. 4H Shooting Sports is open to all youth ages 9 and up.
It's flu season. Ada schools provided the following guidelines for parents and caregivers concerning this airborne virus:
There has been a steady increase in illnesses and absences among the students of Ada Schools.
Respiratory symptoms of coughing, chest congestion, sore throat, runny nose and sneezing are among our students as well as the flu-like symptoms of fever, chills, headache and nausea.
The spread of these airborne viruses can be controlled with prompt diagnosis and effective preventative measures.
