I saw a coyote in town.

The critter was across the street from where I live on State Route 81. He was near a large walnut tree, just yards from the Baptist Church.

At first glance, he looked like a stray dog, which is not an unusual sight in this area of town where dogs escape their confines or are dropped off by bad owners and left to fend for themselves.

The animal and I made eye contact. Thinking it was a stray dog, I tried to coax it to me with a sack of cat food that I happened to have in my hand.

Following The Cadet's performance at the ONU football stadium the Icon snapped this photo as the crowd was rushing to their vehicles due to the coming rains. Have you ever seen water this high in Ada?

The Ada community is coming together this summer to support one of its younger residents – Amelia Griffin. She is the daughter of Beau and Christina Griffin. Her brothers are Jude, 7, and Willie, 3.

Four-year-old Amelia was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She has a tumor next to her spine and metastasized to her spine, according to information posted on her Facebook “Amelia Griffin Never Surrender Run.”

Tests have shown that her cancer has spread to several spots on her spine and pelvic region and below.

On June 8 Amelia began aggressive chemo.

Violet Ruth Moser, 95 died June 17, 2015, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.

She was born April 2, 1920, in Pandora to the late Walter and Margaret (Naas) Basinger. On May 6, 1941 she married Wayne Moser who preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 2006.

She graduated from Pandora-Gilboa High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Bluffton.

Survivors include a daughter Joan (William) Crider of Swanton; a son Donald Moser of Ada;  four grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Anyone flying over head in the vacinity of Ada will identify the community, thanks to "ONU" spelled out in greenery at Dial-Roberson stadium. (Monty Siekerman)
