A mural of big, colorful birthday cakes adorns a dining room at Viva Maria Pizza and Pasta...painted by none other than the proprietor and chief cook himself...Dominic Fricano.
The 20-seat room, near the front door, often serves as a celebration location and dining place for birthday and anniversary parties.
Dominic sought a happy and bright motif for the room. The painting of the giant cakes covers all four walls.

The scene includes the church in his hometown of Guanajuato, Mexico. He liked to draw, so thought he'd try his hand at murals. Since he opened the Ada business here seven years ago, he has now painted murals on all of the walls. (Monty Siekerman)
Senior Gabrielle Metzner placed first in the 60-meter hurdles as the Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team hosted the Polar Bear Last Chance meet at the Ohio Northern University Field House.
Metzner finished the race in 9.04 seconds, breaking the previous record of 9.08 seconds.
