ONU undergraduate commencement information and schedule set

The 2012 Ohio Northern University commencement weekend schedule is set. The schedule follows:

SATURDAY, MAY 12

1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Commencement Rehearsal  for graduating students and others who will participate in commencement. Class picture following rehearsal. Sports Center
5:30 p.m. Graduation Dinner for graduating students, their families, and friends. Advance reservations and tickets required. Dining Room
7:30 p.m. Worship Service for graduating students, their families and friends. English Chapel

Main Street is green

Main Street Ada is turning green. The streetscape trees have leafs and its a certain sign that spring is here.

John Klingler 1921-2012

John M. Klingler, 90, died at 10:58 a.m., April 21, 2012, at Primrose Retirement Community.

He was born June 24, 1921, near Beaverdam, to Freeman and Pearl (Thomas) Klingler. On September 14, 1945, he married Virginia Schwinn, who preceded him in death on March 5, 2011.

Patricia Ann Watkins, 1946-2012

Patricia Ann Watkins, 66, died at 9:34 p.m. April 20, 2012, at Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus.

She was born Jan. 30, 1946, in Harlan County, Ky., to Rossevelt and Louise Jones Crider, who preceded her in death. On April 20, 1985, she married Raymond Richard Watkins Sr., who survives in Ada.

Patricia participated in the family business, 1st Class Siding and Windows. She attended Crossroads Church of God, Lima. She was a member of Reunion Baptist Church, Knoxville, Tenn. Her favorite things to do were spending time with family, playing bingo and working in her flower gardens, and she loved going dancing.

Bluffton pioneer photographer, Will A. Triplett, had an interesting sense of humor. This photo is a photographer's "set up." There are several items to check.

For example, the colt on the ground is playing dead, the boy in the chair holds the horse harness, but so does the dog - also sitting in a chair - behind the boy.
