People are hurting all over the world: Las Vegas, hurricanes Harvey and Irma, the Mexican earthquake, and more, so this Sunday the Ada Family Center will have a special prayer and praise service for families, communities, and the nation and its leaders. The church meets at 10:30 a.m. In McIntosh Center with Ray Hadley as pastor. All are welcome.
Bridge Bereavement Services will offer a presentation to address the myths associated with grief on Monday, October 16, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital, 1900 South Main Street, Findlay. The presentation is free, open to the public and registration is not required.
This presentation will focus on dispelling the many myths and misconceptions of grief such as “grief gets better the second year” and “grief will progress in predictable stages.”
ADA — The Ohio Northern men's cross country team is ranked No. 19 in the first weekly United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III poll, released on Wednesday.
The Polar Bears (46-6 overall) received 87 points in the poll.
Ohio Northern was ranked No. 17 in the preseason poll and No. 19 in the first weekly poll.
North Central (Ill.) remained in the top spot with 280 points and all eight first place votes, SUNY Geneseo is second with 269 points and Wisconsin-La Crosse is third with 262 points.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Oct. 14 at the Principia (Ill.) Cowbell Classic Pre-National race.

The Ada volleyball team celebrated Senior Night in style by sweeping Spencerville in a Northwest Conference mismatch Tuesday on a special Cancer Awareness Night.

The Lady Bulldogs rolled to victory 25-7, 25-16, 25-14 to improve to 12-7 overall, and they stayed first in the NWC at 6-0. The Bearcats fell to 1-13 and 0-6 in the NWC with the defeat.
The Lady Bulldogs have now won 14 consecutive league matches, and are currently riding a four-match win streak.
