Senior Tyler Davis (Liberty Center) and junior Zach Goodchild (Pickerington/North) were named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars for 2017 by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Davis is a Pharmacy major and earned the honor for the second time in his career. He is also a two-time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference and a two-time All-OAC honoree.
The senior averaged 76.1 strokes per round and ranked second on the team in 2017.
Davis earned All-Conference honors after finishing second at the OAC Championships and firing a school-record 54-hole total of 72-73-73—218.

The Ohio Northern football team was selected to finish third in the media poll and fourth in the coaches poll in the Ohio Athletic Conference at the 2017 OAC Football Media Day held at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton.
ONU received 54 points in the coaches poll to finish fourth and 265 points in the media poll to finish third.
Mount Union was tabbed as the preseason favorite by both the media and coaches, collecting 26 first place media votes and seven first place votes from the coaches.
John Carroll was picked to finish second in both the media poll and the coaches poll with 74 points in the coaches poll and 327 points in the media poll.
The Ada school board, meeting tonight (July 27) will act to accept the resignation of Tara Griffith, board president, effective July 28. She has served on the school board for 8 ½ years.

The board will act on accepting a bid of $86,210 for a new school bus from Cardinal Bus Sales and Service, to be delivered in September. The trade-in value from Bus 4 is $3,500.
The Rev. David MacDonald, D.Min., Ohio Northern University chaplain, recently received a Francis Asbury Award for his support of higher education and campus ministries within the United Methodist Church. The award is supported by the church’s General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM) Division of Higher Education
MacDonald is one of 15 individuals who received the award this year. Honorees offer outstanding leadership, above and beyond their basic responsibilities, to help bring heightened awareness to the significance of the church’s higher education ministries.
