VFW supports police dog fund

Which dog collar might fit? Ada Police Department has been collecting money for a new K9 after the untimely death of Jaeger. Here, Ron Risner, commander of Ada VFW Post 9381, meets with Police Chief Michael Harnishfeger to present a check for $250 to help purchase a new K9. The chief thanked the VFW for its donation, which brings total gifts to $1,600 so far. Those wishing to donate may do so at GoFundMe or may bring a check to the police station. Ada's new K9, a 2-year-old German shepherd, will soon be in training and is expected to be on duty by mid October. (Monty Siekerman photo)
