April is World Autism Month, and Ada schools Light It Up Blue in recognition.
From the Ada Bulldog Facebook - Ada's elementary students spent the week bringing autism awareness and acceptance to students, faculty and staff, through decorating rooms and holding a spirit week.
Meghan Harmon, second grade teacher, and Sherry Miller, speech therapist, who have promoted autism awareness in Ada school district coordinated the efforts.
The 30th annual ONU Gospel Ensemble got off to a rousing start in McIntosh Center ballroom on Sunday afternoon when Danielle Gardner led family members in several foot stomping, hand clapping songs of praise. And, she gave a sermonette.

She is a cousin of Adriane Thompson-Bradshaw, the organizer and director of the ONU choir for the past 30 years. Danielle, Adriane, and several other family members sang praises to God before a standing room only crowd, and the audience joined in.
Due to the number of closings this school year, the last day of school for grades K-11 has been moved to May 30. This will also be a 2-hour early dismissal. There is no school on May 29 for Memorial Day.
Should there be any additional closings, we will add additional days of school after May 30 until all necessary days are completed.
Did you know that Ada schools had student librarians as far back as 90 school years ago? Here's that group from 1927. Last names only are under the photo. The yearbook stated that this is the hardest working body in the school outside of the faculty and the annual staff. "Yet they receive no pay and very little thanks."
