Ada's April awareness = Autism
Autism - a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impaired social interaction, verbal and non-verbal communication, and restricted and repetitive behavior.
April is World Autism Month, and Ada schools Light It Up Blue in recognition.
From the Ada Bulldog Facebook - Ada's elementary students spent the week bringing autism awareness and acceptance to students, faculty and staff, through decorating rooms and holding a spirit week.
Meghan Harmon, second grade teacher, and Sherry Miller, speech therapist, who have promoted autism awareness in Ada school district coordinated the efforts.
