Job market, illness impacts staffing

The Ada Police Department has provided the Ada village council with a 2021 Year-End Report that provides insight on staffing developments, information on the number of offenses, incidents and arrests, and financials.

Police Chief Michael Harnishfeger provided the Icon with the attached copy, which includes the following totals:

1,641 Calls for Service

2,488 Officer Initiated Activities (traffic stops, open doors, etc.)

261 Written Reports (105 Criminal, 228 Non-Criminal with some overlap)

Nutrition plays a vital role in our body’s function. It is an essential component to everyday life that is oftentimes overlooked, ignored or taken for granted. Nutrition for each individual is different and can vary based on activity level, age, diagnosis and many other factors. Cancer is a diagnosis that can bring on many changes for people. Maintaining nutrition before, during and after cancer treatment can help manage side effects and improve overall outcome.

Rossella Hassan, 78, of Ada passed away, February 4, 2022.  She is survived by her husband Dwight, daughter Jodi and brother Roger Schick. 

Preceding her in death are her parents Harold and Eloise (Spallinger) Schick and her brother Robert Schick. 

With snowfall forecasts of 8-12" and potential blizzard conditions in our area on February 3-4, the Icon will post annoucements such as travel advisories and business and school closings.
