The Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law is among the nation’s most outstanding law schools, according to The Princeton Review. The ONU College of Law is included in the 2017 edition of The Princeton Review’s annual feature, “The Best 172 Law Schools.”
The rankings are based largely on the responses of students who attend the colleges of law and how they rate their law college experience as well as data collected from colleges of law nationwide.
Ohio Northern University will host several events this fall to encourage students to become more involved in the presidential election as informed voters. The efforts are part of the nationwide Voter Friendly Campus initiative, which strives to encourage student registration and voting, especially in the Nov. 8 presidential election.
The endeavor is led by national groups Campus Vote Project and NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. The project seeks to help students overcome barriers to participating in the political process and involves approximately 1 million students at around 80 campuses.

"It was a cold and windy night." That's how a lot of scary stories begin. But in Ada on Monday night there were lots of ghouls and goblins seen about the downtown on a "pleasant and beautiful night."
The good weather brought out a throng of Halloweeners, who registered in the parking lot behind the city building, marched to the depot, and heard the results of the costume contest.
There were 187 contest participants, about 350 to 400 people (and two dogs) altogether at the event.
Betty J. Reed, 89, died on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at 6:26 a.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
She was born on Aug. 14, 1927, in Kinniconick, Ky., to Ernest and Dorothy (Pell) Rhoden who preceded her in death. Betty married Elvin Reed and he preceded her in death in 1986.
Betty formerly worked for Triplett Corp. of Bluffton, Westinghouse of Lima and prior to her retirement she worked at the Marysville Correctional Facility. Betty was a homemaker. She was a USO volunteer and a member of the Kenton Moose Lodge #428 Ladies Auxiliary.
Amy Eddings, reporter for The Lima News and SALT, formerly of NPR, is the speaker at the Lima Rotary Club on Monday, Oct. 31.
The Lima Rotary Club meets at noon in the North Hall of the Veterans Memorial Civic & Convention Center. The speaker usually begins around 12:30 p.m.
Eddings and her husband are winners of the 2016 Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs business plan competition. They own Easter House Bed and Breakfast, Ada.
