The October meeting of the Ada JCL was hosted by Myra Berger and Linda Staley at the Ada Visiting Nurse with eight members present. The meeting was called to order by President Linda Ferguson.
The speakers for the evening included Amanda Bennett and Connie Fleming from the Ada Public Library. Amanda thanked the club for our donation towards the summer reading program’s, she then spoke about the 5-year renewal levy for the library.
The Ohio Northern University Department of Theatre Arts will present “The Shape of Things,” a classic contemporary play by Neil LaBute, Oct. 27 through Oct. 30 in the Stambaugh Studio Theatre in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.
A pre-show discussion of the play will take place at 7 p.m. on Oct. 27, followed by the performance at 7:30 p.m. Other performances will be 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 28, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 29, and 2 p.m. on Oct. 30.

Congratulations to the high school quiz bowl team who defeated Bath and Celina in the preliminary matches of WTLW's Quiz Whiz competition. The team returns for final four competition tomorrow night.
There will be a meeting for 8th grade Beta Club members on Friday during junior high lunch at noon. in Mrs. Thaxton's room. If you would like to run for the office of president, vice-president, secretary, or treasurer, pick up a nomination form from Mrs. Thaxton by Thursday. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Thaxton.
The Inn at ONU features three performances of “Shadows of Poe,” during Halloween weekend.
“Shadows of Poe” is an original work created by Octopus Productions, based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe. Persons will be treated to original live theatrical adaptations of “The Raven,” and “The Tell Take Heart.”
The Northwest Ohio Theatre Fraternal Association presents the performances Thursday, Oct. 27, Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29 at The Inn at ONU.
Appetizers are offered at 6:30 p.m. and the production begins at 8 p.m. each evening.
