Senior Scott Rapps (Bay Village Bay) was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week presented by Scoutware for his efforts in Ohio Northern's 16-10 victory over Otterbein.
Rapps turned in a dominating performance from his defensive tackle position.
He had a team-high nine sacks, had 5.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, forced a fumble and recovered two fumbles in the game.
His first fumble recovery was in the end zone for ONU's only touchdown of the game in the second quarter and his second was part of a sack and strip that snuffed out Otterbein's final drive with 1:33 left in the game.
Road work? Currently this stretch of County Road 110 south of nearby McGuffey resembles more a canal than a road. The photos look east from State Route 195 to the Scioto River bridge. (Ken Collins photos)

The Ada High School Marching Band began its 2016 competition season earning first place in class C (schools with less than 300 students in grades 10-12) at the Revere High School Invitational held Sept. 24 in Richfield.
Ada’s color guard received the highest overall score regardless of band size, while the entire group earned the honor of Best Visual Effects overall.
Achievements also included Best Color Guard and Best Percussion in Class C.
In addition, the band earned awards for Best General Effects and Best Visual Effects in the combined B and C classes with their Toy Story-themed show.
Here's the story behind this art, now on the Ada elementary wall. Kristie Steiner, art teacher, calls it a collaborative project. Each art student grades 1 to 7 designed one square. During the design the student needed to think how the square could stand out. That's because roughly 400 squares would eventually hang together. "We put the squares together to create a circle with the overall them of collaboration at Ada for all grades," she said. To best appreciate this project open the photos below to see more.
