The last meeting of the Hardin Co Hootenannies was opened by President Megan Williams at the Ag Credit meeting room. We like the opportunity to meet in their fine place.   Megan asked Levi Beiler to lead the 4-H pledge and Miranda Holbrook to lead the American Pledge.  Roll call found 11 members present.

Our t-shirts are being printed.  We all signed a Thank you to Trupointe Co-op in Uniopolis for donating the money to purchase the members’ t-shirts.  We are all very appreciative.

“I came to Ada for college, met Mark, and never left,” shares Kim Light who grew up in Richwood, Ohio, about 45 miles southeast of Ada.

The couple lived in town until about seven years ago when they moved north of town. “I love the sense of community here; knowing your neighbors, and moving to the country reminds me of how I grew up. Also seeing people I know in town or at the grocery is a nice part of living in Ada, too.”

Melina Woods, a freshman at Ada, and Shelby Alloway, a freshman at Hardin Northern, are on the Blackswamp 14-National Volleyball that recently won a national title.

The team from Tiffin placed first in the country at the 2014 USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships held at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minnesota.

Woods and Alloway, along with their eight teammates, won an American bid at a USAV tournament in April, which allowed them to compete in the USAV Junior Championships in June.

We all know Ada has many unsung heroes, but did you know that a Super Hero resides in the community? The Icon spotted him recently riding a bike near the mailboxes belonging to West Lima Avenue postal patrons. Pretty neat disquise!
