Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 18. The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its second spring event at the park with lots of activities taking place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All events are free and open to the public.
Several events are still in the planning stages. There will be music activities, an animal exhibit, an opportunity for youth to take home a potted plant, emergency squad vehicle tours and a tree planting ceremony. There will also be fingerprinting for youth sponsored by the Hardin County Sheriff's Office.
If you were in Ada on Saturday you may have thought you stepped back in time.
That is if you saw the 51st Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Company B, set up camp in Ada. Not to worry. The group is a living history organization.
The company members had a demonstration for ONU Civil War classes. They will be at Appomattox on April 15, during the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's assassination.

Josh Culp of Ada, with business partner Shane Campbell of Lima, opened the store at 123 S. Main St., Ada, on March 6.
The shop offers an assortment of vapor accessories from starter kits to more advanced mechanical mods. Starter kits are priced as low at $9.95. The store, open to persons 18 and older, has free Wi Fi and offers college discounts.
Once upon a time there was a polar bear that lived on a big ice flow...that seems to be the story unfolding during playtime with this student at Ready, Set, Grow Pre-school.
Kids in grades 4th-12th grades are welcome to pop by the Ada Library, Wednesday, March 25th from 3:30-4:30p.m. for pancakes. The event will be held in the Meeting Room, where the kids can also study, or chat with their peers. As always, the program is FREE.
