Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents the 21th annual “ONU Holiday Spectacular” from Thursday, Nov. 19, to Saturday, Nov. 21, at 7:30 p.m. There will be a matinee performance on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m.
In addition, there will be performances at the Civic and Convention Center in Lima, Ohio, on Friday, Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m.

Ohio Northern University will celebrate the contributions of American service members with a ceremony on Veterans Day at the Lehr Statue at the front of the campus on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.
John Phillip Lomax, ONU professor of history, will be the keynote speaker at the event. Lomax, who has taught history at ONU since 1988, served 12 years as an enlisted member of the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. He will reflect on the ways that military service sets apart those who serve from their fellow citizens. In addition, he will explain how military service is a core characteristic of American citizenship.
Several family members of Sandy Neely surprised her by attending the Nov. 2 Ada Town and Gown banquet. (They must have been tipped off in advance.) Neely was named the 2015 Ada distinguished citizen of the year.
