Harold M. “Gus” Guthrie was a pastor
Harold M. “Gus” Guthrie, age 82, passed away at his residence in Ada on Monday, January 24, 2022.
He was born on April 27, 1939, in Roscoe, Ohio to the late Charles and Lillian (Dunn) Guthrie. On February 2, 1958, Gus married Norma J. Shelton and she preceded him in death on January 14, 2018. He later married Patsy Rice on April 27, 2019; she survives in Ada.
Gus is also survived by his two children: Kathy (Jerry) O’Hara of Gahanna and Steven (Shelly) Guthrie of Pandora; five grandchildren: Kristy (Reggie) Glaspie, Heather O’Hara, Jason O’Hara, Paige (Danny) Miles and Jordan Guthrie; one great grandchild, Willow Miles; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two daughters: Sharon Guthrie and Teri Rae Guthrie; and six brothers and a sister.
Gus pastored many churches in his life and was currently attending the Liberty Baptist Church, Ada.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022, at the Liberty Baptist Church, 2955 County Road 20, Ada, with Pastor Don Ayers officiating.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church on Friday, January 28.
