New Leaf Landscape/Garden Center, 0395 State Route 235, Ada, will hold its Christmas open house from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 15.

The event includes a Christmas decorating demonstration from 10 to 11 a.m. There are open house specials, refreshments  and door prizes.

This season New Leaf offers:

• Country and rustic decorations
• Burlap trees and decor
• Artificial trees and greenery
• Chocolate cluster candy
• Cemetery saddles and wreaths
• Poinsettia and Christmas cactus

The Icon recently had a brief chat with four Ada juniors, Alissa Schlachter, Sydney Hartford, Shelbey Van Atta and Cheyenne Wells.  Here are some of the high points of our conversation.

What do you remember about first grade?
Alissa: I sat behind Shelbey.
Sydney: Shelbey and I have been friends since kindergarten.
Cheyenne: Miss Daniels was our teacher.

Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents the 20th annual ONU Holiday Spectacular from Thursday, Nov. 20, to Saturday, Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m. There will be a matinee performance on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m.

In addition, there will be performances at the Civic and Convention Center in Lima, Ohio, on Friday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m.
