Ada's latest news

I urge everyone on the school board, in the Ada community, and Hardin County to think beyond themselves to their neighbors, their churches, to the businesses in town, and to the surrounding community.

On this past Thursday evening, June 18, I had the opportunity to enjoy one of the freedoms we have in this country – the right to free speech. 

I and eight other engaged citizens from the Ada community spoke to the Ada School board regarding concerns related to the upcoming school year and measures which may or may not be in place regarding safeguards around COVID-19.

Countless residents quickly identifed the location of this wooden wheel, despite the fact that no one has boarded a passenger train in Ada in decades.

Monday evening water main break repaired

Ada lifted its boil water alert this morning at 9:15 a.m.

The message is for r esidents at 221 East University, 220 East High St., and South Simon Street from East University to East Lima Avenue, South Park Avenue and North Park Avenue.

So you think you know Ada? This one is so easy that there are no hints. We'll give you the answer tomorrow, unless someone answers it correctly first.

 Ohio Northern senior Maggie Krause (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) was named Academic All-America in Women's Track & Field for 2020 by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Krause is a two-time All-American in the pole vault, finishing seventh at the 2019 NCAA Indoor Championships and eighth at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships.

She was also named an All-American in 2020 and is a five-time All-Region honoree by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for her performances this winter.

Krause is a three-time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference award winner and was named Academic All-District VII earlier this spring.
