The Ada High School class of 1969 will hold its 50th reunion from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, at Center on Central (old Hal and Jean’s Restaurant), in Ada.

Area gardeners and others with an interest in gardening are invited to attend the summer gardening programs offered at the Friendship Gardens of Hardin County.
This summer the Hardin County OSU Extension Master Gardener Volunteers are sponsoring educational demonstration programs in the Friendship Gardens, 960 W. Kohler St., in Kenton, behind Harco Industries. Follow the ‘Friendship Gardens of Hardin County’ signs to a parking area off of West Kohler Street. The events begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday mornings and will last about an hour.
The Vancrest employee spotlight shines on Alicia Gibson this month.
She is a member of the Vancrest therapy team, working with occupational therapy to assist residents to become as strong and safe at home as they can be.
She said that her passion is helping others and working with Vancrest patients in every way she can. "I enjoy getting to know our patients, and watch their progress as they move through their rehab stay at Vancrest," she added.
Alicia is an Ada High School and Rhodes State College graduate. She obtained here occupational therapy assistant degree from Rhodes.

BLUFFTON - The Ada swim team finished a solid fourth out of eight teams at the 39th annual Elks West Ohio Aquatic League championship meet Friday and Saturday at the Bluffton pool.
Westside won the combined team meet, as well as the boys and girls team crowns. Bluffton took second in all three of the final team standings.
Ada came in fourth overall and fourth in the boys team results, while the Alligator girls ended up fifth.

The number of illnesses caused by tick, mosquito and flea bites has more than tripled over 12 years, according to the CDC. But there are ways to keep yourself safe.
