Inspired by new information that came to his attention during the last week of interviews, news stories and tributes about John Havlicek after his death, Cort Reynolds wrote a new piece of ruminations about Havlicek that posted last week on SB Nation.
The following highway construction is scheduled to occur within Hardin County. Work is dependent upon weather conditions, and unless otherwise noted, it will take place during daytime hours.
The following routes within Hardin County will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for berm repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage.
• State Route 67 between state Route 117 and Kenton
• State Route 68 between the Logan County line and Kenton
• State Route 235 between state Route 309 and Roundhead
• State Route 273 between the Logan County line and Mount Victory

ADA - The Ada tennis team avenged a 2018 tournament defeat by beating Clyde 3-1 in round two of the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association tournament Wednesday at the Ohio Northern University courts.
Clyde edged Ada 3-2 last year in the same regional quarterfinal round of the OTCA event. The victory gave the Bulldogs their first-ever berth in the OTCA sweet 16/regional semifinal round.
The Bulldogs improved to 14-4 with the victory, and advance to the Div. II northwest region semis at Ottawa Hills next week at a date TBA. Clyde dropped to 14-3 with the defeat.

Ada Junior Civic League members know the value of pecan sales.
Earlier this week, the league distributed $1,000 in proceeds from this year’s peacan sales to three Ada organizations.
Checks included:
• $600 to Ada schools Boots for Bulldogs program,
• $200 to the Ada school lunch program, and
• $200 to the Ada Public Library’s summer reading program.
Presenting the checks in behalf of the league were Sherry Evans, president, and Bev Romick, special projects chair.

Host Ada was not able to get enough key hits with numerous runners on base and lost a 13-5 Northwest Conference softball makeup marathon to Columbus Grove on a cool, windy Tuesday evening.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to 9-12 overall and 1-6 in the NWC with the Senior Night defeat, while CG improved to 6-8 and 2-5 in league play after the win.
Ada stranded a season-high 18 baserunners and left the bases loaded multiple times.
CG scored five runs in the top of the first inning and added three more in the second to take a commanding 8-2 lead early.
Alger Public Library will hold a Young Mom Support Class over four Fridays in May. Each class is from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. in the library.
