The Ohio Northern University Observatory will be open to the public on Friday, March 22 from 9 - 11 p.m. to observe the Vernal Equinox, according to Dr. Jason Pinkney, of the Department of Physics and Astronomy. This event marks the astronomical first day of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere.
The precise time of the equinox is Wednesday, March 20, at 5:58 p.m.. EDT, but the night sky will be the same on March 22.
Ada Area Chamber of Commerce invites Icon viewers to a chamber "mix and mingle" on Wednesday, according to Deb Curlis, chamber director.
The after-hours free event is from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, at The Inn at ONU.

Junior attack Cameron Marous (Brecksville) scored the game-winning goal on the opening possession of the overtime period Saturday afternoon, giving the Ohio Northern men's lacrosse program a 9-8 victory over nonconference foe Alfred (N.Y.) at Yunevich Stadium.
With the victory, the Polar Bears move to 5-1 overall this season and extend their current win streak to five games. In addition, ONU has now won 12 successive road contests dating back to the 2018 campaign.
