What’s up at the Ada Public Library in January?

How about an afternoon of marshmallow games, sensory art, an introduction to ancestry.com, Japanese culture, bluegrass and toss in a movie with free popcorn.

The library’s event calendar is now available and is posted as an attachment to this story.

This may be the closest thing Ada gets for snow on the ground before the new year. It's a watercolor by Professor James DeVore, who taught for over 30 years at Ohio Northern University before retiring in 1997. (From ONU Department of Art and Design Facebook).

ADA - Waynesfield-Goshen jumped out to a big early lead and went on to defeat event host Ada 44-25 in the third-place game of the Border Battle girls basketball tournament Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Bulldogs fell to 1-9 with the consolation round defeat. Meanwhile, the Lady Tigers improved to 4-6 with the win.

"We just couldn't hit shots," said first-year Ada head coach Morgan Bass. "I thought our 2-3 zone definitely gave them issues. We rebounded well and stayed active.
