Village officials commend safety services and resident response

The Ada Village Council met in session on Tuesday, February 3rd. All council members were present with Mayor David Retterer conducting the meeting. The meeting packet is HERE.

During the mayor’s comments, Retterer recognized firefighters and those involved Tuesday night for their response to extinguish a downtown fire on Main Street on Monday evening. Retterer said the 10 crews were well-trained and dedicated.

 Susan L. Sneary, age 80, of Roundhead, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at her residence with her family by her side. 

She was born on February 23, 1945, in Kenton, Ohio, to the late William and Hester (Prater) Wireman, Sr. Susan married Franklin D. Sneary in 1963, and he preceded her in death in 1998.

Susan is survived by her son, Joseph (Ronda) Sneary of Roundhead; two grandchildren: Peggan (Nathan) Cox and Jennifer Sneary; three great grandchildren: Caiden, Mykenzie and Billy; three brothers: Adam Wireman, James (Caroline) Wireman and Paul Wireman; and sister-in-law, Carrie Wireman.

PANDORA__The visiting Ada High School girls basketball team rallied late but lost 57-47 to Blanchard Valley Conference rival Pandora-Gilboa on Thursday, February 5.

Three Rocket seniors combined to score all of their points. Savannah Knueven led all players with 23 points, while Kelsie Carlson netted 19 and Ava Huffman added 15. 

The Bulldog girls trailed 12-7 after the first period as Huffman scored seven points.
