ADA__The Ada High School softball team routed visiting Lima Central Catholic 22-1 on a chilly Saturday, March 28.
The Bulldog girls led 2-1 after the first inning. Ada then exploded for nine runs in each of the next two frames to put the game well out of reach as they extended the cushion to 20-1.
After plating two more runs in the home fourth, Ada shut out the visitors in the fifth to invoke the mercy rule after 4.5 innings. The Bulldogs out-hit LCC 10-2 and capitalized on nine Thunderbird errors.
Ada improved to 3-0 with the decisive win. LCC dropped to 0-2 after the defeat.
MEDIA RELEASE__On March 28, 2026, at approximately 10:17 A.M., the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a report of a commercial semi-truck striking a car on US 30 at the Hancock County Line in Richland Township, Allen County.
Lawrence Morris Sr, age 62, from Toledo, Ohio, was southbound on CR 15 driving a 2015 Lincoln MKS. Andrew Skiles, age 54, from Rochester, Indiana, was westbound on US 30 driving a 2018 Kenworth Semi. Mr. Morris failed to yield at a posted stop sign and was struck in the side by the semi.
Mr. Morris suffered fatal injuries and was transported from the scene by Allen County Mortuary Services to Chiles-Laman Funeral Home.
At 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, the ONU University Singers and the ONU Chamber Orchestra will hold their annual Palm Sunday concert featuring music "to provide respite along your Lenten journey." The performance is free and open to the public. Location: Presser Hall.
