Two local churches helped about 40 ONU students NOT eat last weekend.
As part of the religious life program on campus, the students volunteered not to eat for 30 hours to partially experience what its like to go hungry. And, the $700 they saved from not buying food went to World Vision.
The fast ended with a spaghetti dinner at the First Presbyterian Church.
During the fast, students were occupied on campus and at the First Baptist Church with time for worship, service projects, and games.

Their song received a standing ovation from the 150 people who attended the fall instrumental ensembles concert Monday evening in Presser Hall. The hour-long program also featured the brass ensemble, woodwind choir, horn ensemble, flute choir, and percussion ensemble. (Michael J. Ayers photograph)
