Ada elementary students will be visited by the "in-school dentist" on Friday, Oct. 23. 

The visit is part of the Smile Programs...the mobile dentists.

Enrollment forms will be sent home with elementary children. Parents need to fill out and sign the enrollment form and return it to the school with your child.

Parents with questions may call the school office.

Vicki Mills is offering free preview classes twice this month at Miss Vicki's Music Studio in Ada.

• 1:30 – 2:15  Music Makers: At Home in the World (ages 4 – 5 ½)
• 2:30 – 3:00  Family Music – Mixed Ages (Babies – age 4)

• 4:45 – 5:30  Music Makers at the Keyboard (2nd & 3rd graders)

Dr. Keith F. Durkin, Ohio Northern University professor of sociology, will serve as data analyst and program evaluator for the Hardin County Juvenile Court to facilitate the provision of behavioral health services to post-adjucated youth ages 12-17 who have mental health disorders.

The program was made possible after Hardin County was awarded a $65,210 Competitive RECLAIM Grant from the Ohio Department of Youth Services.

Rolla M. Stratton, Sr., 87, died on Monday, Sept. 7, 2015, at 1:10 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima, Ohio.

He was born on July 22, 1928, in Hardin County Ohio to Samuel and Leona (Spees) Stratton who preceded him in death. On May 22, 1954, he married Jean Ann Amstutz and she survives in Ada.

Rolla retired in 1992 from the Ford Motor Company after 33 years where he worked as a millwright. He served in the U.S. Navy during the end of WWII. Rolla attended the Alger Assembly of God Church.

The Allen County Master Gardener Association will be hosting The Butterfly Migration Celebration on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m. at The Children’s Garden in Lima.

This event features the release of dozens of monarch butterflies; butterfly-themed children’s activities; an educational butterfly presentation and much more.

The Children’s Garden is currently funded exclusively by donations and is staffed by volunteers.  The Allen County Master Gardener Association relies on the support of the community to continue maintaining the garden and offering educational opportunities to the residents of the region.
