Darlene G. Tarr was an EMT for 30 years
Darlene G. Tarr, age 91, of Ada, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born on March 14, 1931, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to the late Isaac and Mahala (Neeley) Fitzpatrick. On November 13, 1948 Darlene married Roger I. Tarr and he preceded her in death on June 21, 2012.
Darlene is survived by her two daughters: Marilyn Nelson of Lima and Carol (Victor) Jones of Ada; a son-in-law, Michael Dudgeon of Ada; four grandchildren: Bonnie (Bill) Edgin, Brad (Theresa) Jones, Rod (Brooke) Dudgeon and Deana (Jamie) Basinger; seven great grandchildren: Samantha (Alex) Witten, Rachel Wildman, Braden Jones, Andrew Jones, Alexis Jones, Cora Basinger and Ella Basinger; four step great grandchildren: Kyle Edgin, Zack Edgin, Laurie Bassett and Kenzie Bassett; and a sister, Marge (Howard) Runser of Bridgeman, MI.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Dudgeon; and step great grandson, Brady Bassett.
Darlene retired from Dr. Shull’s Office, where she worked as his dental assistant. She helped to organize The Ada Liberty EMS with her husband Roger. Darlene served as an EMT for thirty years and retired as captain.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ada Liberty EMS.
