Keith A. Matson, age 53, of Lima, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 4:56 AM at Lima Memorial Health System. 

He was born on October 1, 1968, to Arthur G. and Patricia (Lee) Matson.  His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Dola.

Also surviving is his daughter, Haley Stidham of Dola; three grandchildren: Karleigh, Koby and Kolson Stidham; a brother, Eric (Denise) Matson of Bellville; and a sister, Melinda (Wesley) Hipsher of Dunkirk.

Keith worked as an autobody repairman.  He was a graduate of Hardin Northern High School and attended Apollo Career Center. 

The launch of Artemis I has been postponed by Hurricane Ian.

Several Ohio Northern University alumni are hoping to see their hard work blast off, literally, during the much-anticipated Artemis I mission’s Orion spacecraft and Space Launch System rocket launch [originally] planned for Sept. 27.

According to NASA, this uncrewed flight test “will provide a foundation for human deep space exploration and demonstrate our commitment and capability to return humans to the Moon and extend beyond.”

The Ada High School volleyball team lost a close four-setter at Delphos Jefferson in Northwest Conference action Tuesday night, September 27.

The 25-22, 11-25, 25-21, 25-19 defeat dropped the Bulldog season record to 9-8 overall and 1-5 in NWC play. DJ improved to 5-10 and 2-2 in the NWC with the minor upset win.

Ada senior libero Courtney Sumner came up with 39 digs and served a pair of aces.

Junior setter Autumn Andreasen doled out 32 assists, made 13 digs, hit five kills and served two aces.

TIFFIN—The Ohio Northern women's golf team shattered the school's 36-hole record by a full 10 strokes en route to a victory at the Heidelberg Fall Invitational on Friday and Saturday, September 16-17, at  Mohawk Golf & Country Club.

The Polar Bears (21-1 overall) fired a 314-315—629 to break the previous record of 639 to win the 8-team tournament by 17 strokes.

Sophomore Rhianna Firmstone (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) won Medalist honors for the first time in her career with a 74-79—153 on the 5921-yard, par-72 course to finish first by three strokes in the 60-women field.

The Ada area Chamber of Commerce and Ada Public Library are hosting a FREE pumpkin decorating event for kids up to 6th grade. Come to Ada’s historic train depot from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1. The decorated pumpkins will be placed at businesses in Ada for the community to see on display the next week.
