John Ramsdell, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at the Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake, OH.

He was born December 27th, 1952 in Kenton, OH to the late Anna (nee Shrider) and James Ramsdell.  John married the love of his life, Terri Downard and she preceded him in death in 2010.

John graduated from Ohio Northern University, loved all things related to Ohio sports, reading, boating on Indian Lake, playing foosball and spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his three children; Scott Ramsdell of Lakeview, Sara Syrowski (nee Ramsdell) of Avon Lake; Carly Ramsell of Lakeview; son-in-law Mike Syrowski and 4 grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents; Anna and James Ramsdell; his wife, Terri Ramsdell (nee Downard); a sister, Carolyn Coe; and a brother, David Ramsdell.

Memorial services will begin at 12:00 pm on Wednesday February 7th, 2024 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger. A private family gathering will follow at Preston Cemetery, Alger.  

Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, February 7th at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
