September 13 Statement by the Hardin County Sheriff's Office
On September 12, 2024, at approximately 10:07 p.m. the Hardin County Central Dispatch Center received a 9-1-1 call regarding a motorcycle accident in the 17000 block of State Route 235 in Roundhead Township.
Upon initial investigation, it appeared that a 2008 Harley Davidson driven by Chad Goodin of Alger was traveling Northbound on State Route 235 and left the West side of the roadway. Mr. Goodin was not wearing a helmet and was ejected from the motorcycle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing and speed is thought to be a contributing factor.
Assisting the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office on scene was Roundhead Fire Department, Richland Township Fire Department, BMRT EMS, USV EMS, the Multi-County Crash Investigation Team, Minich’s Towing and Recovery and the Hardin County Coroner’s Office.
